Pachamama Preserve is a community-rooted conservation and outdoor education space on Johns Island, South Carolina, dedicated to reconnecting children, families, and communities with nature through regenerative gardening, ecological stewardship, herbal education, and hands-on learning.

At Pachamama Preserve, we believe gardens are more than places to grow food — they are living classrooms, ecological refuges, and gathering spaces where children and families can develop a direct relationship with the natural world. Through community gardens, children’s programming, native habitat restoration, and food-growing initiatives, we work to cultivate resilience, environmental awareness, and community connection.

Our programs engage children and neighbors in hands-on stewardship of the land through gardening, plant identification, pollinator habitat restoration, food cultivation, and experiential outdoor learning. By creating accessible opportunities for immersive nature education, Pachamama Preserve aims to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards while strengthening local food systems and protecting green space within the Charleston tri-county region.

We envision a future where preserved community green spaces serve as centers for education, conservation, nourishment, and intergenerational connection — places where both people and ecosystems can thrive together.
